This week, we discussed the fruit of the Spirit of FAITHFULNESS. The Bible gives us a definition of faithfulness in Hebrews 11:1:
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
The Bible tells us that God is faithful to us. He loves us. He sent Jesus to die for our sins. He provides us with hope, forgiveness, life, and joy!
The problem is that we struggle to be faithful back.
We cheat on God's love and goodness when we are not faithful.
But God is so good that even when we are not faithful, HE STILL IS!
2 Timothy 2:13:
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.
Lamentations 3:21-23:
21 But this I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
When we have faith in Jesus, we actually become more faithful!
We can have more faithful relationships because we are following Jesus' example!
We can be more faithful to our families because we love the way Jesus loved!
We can be more faithful students because we honor our teachers and show kindness and have patience to study!
