This week, we discussed the fruit of the Spirit of GOODNESS.
I asked the students, "How do you know right from wrong?" It is important that we know the difference!
Isaiah 5:20:
20 Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter!
But we cannot rely on culture, the government, or even our own hearts to tell us what is right or wrong because all of those can lead us astray.
It used to be society thought we could enslave people. We used to sacrifice children to appease false gods and this was called "good".
Jesus tells us that only God is good. He alone determines right from wrong!
Mark 10:18:
18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.
It is only through our relationship with Christ that we can know what good is and produce goodness in our life!
Ephesians 2:10:
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
